This sounds like the most boring book ever written. I know. But it's actually kind of insane - it's about the fact that most people read passively, and there's a whole system to actually extract the maximum from a book. Levels of reading, how to argue with the author, how to synthesize across multiple books. It explains how to read different literature and honestly I've been using everything this book has given, every new book I read, any new paper I read, I use the techniques and information given in this book. I was able to speed up my reading, improve comprehension and just in general know when to relax and when to speed read.
