LOCVM matches doctors with clinics and hospitals that need locums (short-term cover so a doctor can take time off). It is an OMA (Ontario Medical Association) partner. Site -> locvm.ca.

How I got here

February 2026 to present

In February 2026 LOCVM was a folder on my laptop called "locvm" under "contracts". Rebuild the matching engine, send the invoice, move on. But every woman in my family is in medicine, so when I traced physician request in -> locum out, I wasn't picturing a database. I was picturing them. By April I was the full-stack guy who couldn't leave it alone. Full story on X -> thread.

What I work on

  • Matching engine: the smart matching that connects physicians with locum jobs.
  • Email notifications: I shipped the production email notification system.
  • AI tooling for the team: agent skills and AI-assisted development infrastructure for the codebase.
  • CI speed: I rewrote our pre-PR coverage check. It went from 2 min to 25 s on a cold run (post).

BVX 2026

On September 10, 2026 LOCVM won its Scale-Up award at BVX (post). locvm.ca lists it as the Mitacs Health Innovation Showcase Scale-Up Innovator Award. I was in the crowd, then at our booth, where a stranger asked what LOCVM does. I said "we", not "they".

I'm George (Gosha), an AI and full-stack engineer in Toronto. I ship production software -> the ERP that runs Avateq end to end, email and matching systems at LOCVM, and Kava, an iOS app I co-founded. I started building companies at 16 and I learn by building, breaking and fixing. Next -> a startup team in San Francisco.
